PS3 Firmware Update 3.6 Enables Cloud Storage

Sony has today released a new firmware update, version 3.6 to their PlayStation consoles that brings with it the ability to save game data to a cloud storage service. The new cloud storage that is connected to the the users PlayStation Network account, allows gamers to store up to 150MB of game data or a 1,000 data files.
The new service will work with most current PS3 games and will be supported by all new games released in the future. Once your data is uploaded you can then download it when required on any PS3, once you have logged in to your PSN account, allowing you to continue games in other locations and on other PS3 consoles.
There are a few restrictions to be aware of which Sony has put in place. Unfortunately, you will only be able to download the same file once within any 24hrs, but you can download as a many individual files as you like.
The new cloud storage service is available for free to anyone who is already a PlayStation Plus subscriber and costs nothing extra to use. If you don’t have a PlayStation Plus subscription they are available to purchase for $49.99 per year.
