RSVP Gallery

Offering merchandise that doubles as art, RSVP serves as a luxury boutique/art gallery that displays and sells pop art and design from around the world. Short for “Répondez s’il vous plaît” or please respond, the store’s name is an invitation for guests to not only visit the space, but participate, get inspired, and respond.

Bars of green neon line RSVP’s black painted ceiling while exposed brick walls display giant neon art pieces commissioned by RSVP – all channeling the store’s design concept of pairing pop art with luxury. Using minimalism and raw space, RSVP takes the look of a pop art gallery, with its merchandise as the featured pieces.

The RSVP decor is taken from The RSVP Private Collection of works from artists including Mark Newson, Stephen Sprouse, Jeff Koons, Takashi Murakami, Kaws and NoPattern. RSVP offers pieces from premium brands including Kaikai Kiki, Ambush, Dee & Ricky, Super, PLAY Comme des Garcons, Rizzoli, Original Fake, G-Shock, Incase and Boxed Water. RSVP also has a selection of rare, original, vintage items from Louis Vuitton, Chanel, A Bathing Ape, Nike and Levi Strauss & Co.

W Collar Shirt | Original Fake

An interesting new shirt has released from the Original Fake Autumn/Winter 2009 Collection. The W Collar Shirt comes with two collars, with the bottom one featuring the Kaws Chompers design, while the upper is clean and design-less. The shirt comes in overall 4 colorways and is now available from the honeyee store.

Check out some the other colorways below.

Baguette High Top Sneaker | Rhythm Footwear

Japanese brand Rhythm Footwear has come out with an interesting looking new high top sneaker for Fall/Winter 2009. Entitled “Baguette”, the sneaker features a velcro strap closing, which is attached to a large flap over the upper. The closing certainy gives the sneaker a spacy look. It comes in black, grey and red and will be available soon at Nano Universe.
And yet again I must ask "why do the Japanese have to get all the good shit?!?"
lol...alright, now that that's over, I do have to say that these things are AMAZING...they kind of remind me of
Ato's but in a weird sort of way,...mostly the straps of course.
Now, I need a way to read/order from ZoZo...lmao

KAWS x Interview Magazine | Michael Jackson Editorial

Interview Magazine recently ran an editorial piece on Michael Jackson and they asked Kaws to contribute to the article by working over an image of Michael, pictured above.

3Sixteen Autumn 09 Collection Lookbook

I came across this post on HighSnobiety and found that I totally agreed with what was written and needed to help get it further out there and let it shine that much more. I too remember about a year+ ago that all I saw out of 3Sixteen was tees and your basic street essentials and now they're really stepping it up and getting their 'grown folk' on...lol

Info:
We just cannot emphasize enough how pleased we are with the development of New York label 3sixteen. They have grown from a small streetwear label into an up and coming menswear brand in less than 2 years and their Fall 2009 Collection is looking really good. Especially the outerwear has attracted our attention – double breasted coats and peacoats make up the key pieces of the collection, which is completed with a solid line-up of shirts and knitwear, as well as some stand-out accessories. The look is very coherent and just works.

Nike Blazer | AC High LE 'Red Velcro' & Low ND 'Lucky Green'

Two interesting new Blazers have come up from Nike – the Blazer AC High LE Red Velcro and the Blazer Low ND Lucky Green.

The Blazer AC High LE Velcro honors the original Air Jordan 1 Low Velcro. The outer shell is constructed of a red patent leather with a tan leather lining. The upper is decorated with overall 5 velcro straps going across, giving the sneaker a bit of a space look.

The Blazer Low ND is from the Spring/Summer 2010 Collection. The outer shell is a green nylon mesh print with a green leather toe. The inside is made of premium green mesh that also includes a terry cloth insole.

I gotta admit it, Nike has some nice solid pieces here, both looking very clean.
If I could have my way, the velcro Hi's would totally be mine...lol

Incase Paul Rodriguez Signature Collection | Fall 09 Skate Pack

You know, as a kid, I always took backpacks for granted...they were just another school-related necessity. But lately (read: the last year+) my eyes have been opened to how badass something as simple as a backpack could be, and it all started with my Kidrobot Stealth I got on a birthday. But enough about that, this is about the new Incase x Paul Rodriguez Skate Pack...read on:

As seen in the newly released "Run This Town" video, worn by the lovely Rihanna, these studded glasses come courtesy of a-morir, designed by Karin Rose. These sunglasses are completely enveloped in hand-painted pyramid studs, all of which have been slightly distressed.
As with all of these funky new glasses we've seen roll out these last few years, yes, you can actually see through these...they aren't just for show.
We will be able to purchase the sunglasses as of October, when these will release in a silver and gold colorway, as well as the black pair pictured here.
The sunglasses can be pre-ordered for 350 USD

Brooklyn Fare > Starbucks...lol

I'm glad someone finally put it out onto a public forum...I've been saying the same forever, although I can't credit away from the movie Role Models who put it on front street also (third set of quotes down).

Zoon’s Blind LED Light

LED handrail by Zoran Sunjic.

According to the designer, Blind LED lights have environmental benefits as well: “the idea also appeals to those who are interested in saving energy as LED consumes less energy and is more environmentally friendly than fluorescent bulbs. These blind LED lights would also negate the requirement for bright lights in places that are not used often…” The Croatian designer’s studio is named ZOON, meaning ‘whole living universe’ in ancient Greek.

Aside from just looking cool, these would be pretty functional for getting up the stairs on those really late nights...lol.

Drake? Really?!

So, I needed somewhere to vent my thoughts on this subject because I can't, for the life of me understand why everyone is all over homeboy's jock...I mean I have heard some nice stuff from him but even as such it's nothing super-special, going beyond anything else you hear on radio. I'd have to say that the first Drake track that I heard that actually impressed me was "I Want This Forever," (re-released as "Forever" featuring Wayne, Kanye and Eminem [link]) and for that I'll give dude credit.
Now as far as "Best I Ever Had," I honestly can't find the appeal in the track...not even Wayne could save that one. I mean I can openly admit that the instrumental itself doesn't wow me either but I'm not factoring that into my Drake rant. If it were up to me, dude would probably stick to singing over tracks and leave the rapping to someone else; I honestly don't think (read: pretty much know) that Drake isn't an MC first and foremost as proven by the
'Blackberry Freestyle' on Funkmaster Flex's show [back in April] that made its way around the web and as such, he should probably not rep it so hard as if he were from the streets ("Degrassi stand up"?!?).
At the end of the day it's nothing personal that I have against him, especially considering that that would be foolish seeing as how I don't know him (lol), but I did want to vent to the web and see if someone can shed some light on "why the fuck is dude getting so much shine?" especially considering how many other notable acts are trying so hard to make it to the level of a Drake (see
XXL's Top 10 Freshmen 2009...yes, even Prince of Fail, Charles Hamilton).
